In this series…
A simple but powerful breathing technique that can be especially helpful during very intense periods of labour. The technique also relaxes your face, jaw and throat, thereby relaxing your pelvic floor. It also creates a distraction and focus through those big powerful surges.
Loose-lipped breath is integrated into the practice in preparation for birth.
Watch NowA favourite breath of the women Danae supports in labour. This in an incredible way to your control breath during intensity and pressure. SHSHSH allows women to experience the downward momentum of the diaphragm with the very gentle pressured exhale the breath creates. Like a coffee plunger.
SH breath is integrated into the practice in preparation for any birth including caesarean.
Watch NowBlowing out a candle breath is perfect for crowning, or the sensations described as ‘the ring of fire’. The stretching, stinging and burning calls for soft quick breaths to gently control the pulse of the diaphragm, easing your baby’s head or bottom (breech birth) to be born.
The breath technique is integrated into the practice in preparation for birth.
Watch NowThe powerful energy and intensity of birth can be directed and released out of your body using sound. Birth is constant waves of power and peak performance and then softening to a dormant state. Moving that power is essential as that powerful energy needs to go somewhere.
Think of a tennis player that releases sound with the enormous powerful swing and hit, or a fighter that releases sound with each connect. Sound is an incredible breath technique that empties the diaphragm efficiently ready for a big breath in telling your brain ‘I am safe’.
Long low sound in birth softens the throat which relaxes the pelvic floor, releases tension, focuses the mind and serves as an incredible tool to work with pain.
