Vagus Nerve

We have left and right vagus nerves. Their optimal functioning is essential for good physical and mental health in pregnancy, birth and post partum.

Stimulation of the vagus nerves reduces heart rate, promotes healthy digestion and metabolism, increases blood flow to organs and reduces inflammation.

The ‘In Between’ – What Happens Between Contractions

Everyone talks about ways to manage contractions. What about the time in between contractions when you are recovering from peak performance intensity and you are waiting for the next surge?

Danae calls this time the ‘in between’. This practice offers you tools to work with this space when the mind has time to wander and self doubt can creep in.

Slow Practice ‘Yin’ Inspired

The best place to get to know your mind is in a slow practice. Remember YOU are who coming to your birth. If you know who you are, how to concentrate, breath, be patient and stay with your body, you are preparing a version of yourself that is confident and ready for your birth.

Slow practices work with penetrating fascia, the intelligent webbing of the body. Fascia plays an instrumental role in maternal alignment and your baby’s positioning.

Tapping

Tapping for nervous system regulation helps calm the body’s stress response (fight-or-flight) by signalling safety to the brain, lowering cortisol, reducing anxiety, and promoting emotional balance and physical ease.

Affirmations

Affirmations are a powerful tool in overcoming self-sabotaging negative thoughts which contribute to self-doubt. What you think you soon believe. When you repeat positive affirmations often and believe in them, you can make meaningful positive changes.

Your yoga practice is the best place to learn how to use affirmations and practice them with movement and breath ready for any birth.
